• Your camera arm needs a good workout
• Camden market has all sorts of cool shops
• The food at Camden market is delish
• It beats sitting at home on a Saturday

Thank you to Tom for getting the last meet up organised. Unfortunately I’d just got back from Italy that week and couldn’t make it. I hope folks had a good time.  I realise our meet ups have been rather sporadic, so I’d like to start prepping now for the next one. As you’ll see the poll over on the right has been updated, so cast your votes. I would suggest not opting for October 20th unless that is your only day available, since that is the World Cup Rugby final.

Also, please leave your thoughts/suggestions on where to meet. I’d love to hear from you guys.

Lastly, do you think we should just set our meet ups as the first Saturday of every month? That way, we know the dates already and it’s just a matter of organising the place? Let me know your thoughts. Getting myself down to London nowadays is a bit of a mission, but I’d love to have more regular meet ups and hang out more often.

After the successful Euro meetup I’m all inspired for some local activity. And judging from the poll results it seems that there is one favourite date.

Where: Sacred Cafe, 13 Ganton Street (which is next to Carnaby Street, map)
Depending on the weather and available space we either sit outside or downstairs. Just grab a coffee and come and join us.
Later we’ll probably wander through Soho and other parts of central London to see if we can find some interesting shots.
Well, that is the next question I guess. We could do the ol’ central London, but if people are up for some other areas, please shout. I couldn’t find any special events going on during that day, but maybe someone else knows of some cool things to go see and shoot. It would be nice if we could include an exhibition visit, but it’s not a must.

We’d love to hear from you, so please leave a comment with any suggestions. It would also be great if you could leave a comment when you’re planning to come, because then we know how many to expect.

September is just around the corner and that means, as we mentioned before, the annual European Photobloggers meet-up is as well. This year the meet-up is being held in Berlin from September 7-9.  If you don’t have your tickets to Berlin yet, there is still time! Lastminute.com often has some really good deals.

Be sure to visit EuropePhotobloggers.org for more information like the schedule of events. If you can’t make it this year, definitely visit the site and leave your thoughts on where the next one should be.

So yes, our meet ups have not had a huge number in attendance, but hopefully we can change that. There is a poll to vote for the next meet up, so let us know what date suits you best. Do you have a suggestion for where we can meet? Do you have any suggestions for a better way to organise these meet ups? What can we do to make them more successful? We are open to any and all feedback!

Well, it seems that Saturday August 18th is a fitting date for most, so our next meet up will be then.

The annual European Photobloggers Meet-Up is being held in Berlin, Germany this year. It’s the weekend of September 7-9, 2007. If you are able to travel over that weekend, I would definitely recommend heading to the meet-up. It is bound to be a fantastic weekend!

There will be guided tours, walk-and-shoots and perhaps an urban photo hunt. More specifics are still being ironed out, but a great weekend of photography, photo-chatting and meeting photobloggers from around Europe is being planned. Be sure to visit the website, Europe Photobloggers, and join the fun. There’s a Forum there, so join in and share your thoughts.

A quick look at flights from Heathrow to Berlin are approximately £140 return (not including taxes etc.). The Ellington Hotel is offering a special for us over that weekend if you book before August 15th.  The details are on the website. If you are planning on going, email me so I can give you my mobile and you’ll be sure to have at least someone to contact when you get to Berlin (just in case!).

I’m hoping a bunch of us can make it and represent LPB!

If you miss the initial gathering at 1pm since things might be a tad hectic, meet us at the High Street Starbucks to grab a coffee and chat about the events. From there we can always do a little wandering around Oxford.

Well, this is a little short notice, but if folks are up for a mini-meet up this weekend in Oxford for the Cowley Road Carnival, here are the details.

The procession starts from the Plain side of Cowley at noon and heads down Cowley to Leopold Street. If you are in Oxford, or plan to come up, meet outside Nando’s (80, Cowley Road - Map) at noon. There are all sorts of stalls and acts going on from noon to 6pm along Cowley and the side streets, so we are sure to be busy.

We will plan a meet up for Saturday, July 14th as well - this time with a little more notice. More on that soon. If you are able to make it on Sunday, be sure to leave a comment here so we know who to expect. Hope to see you on Sunday!

UPDATE:  There are limited number of official photographer passes available which can give you access to back stage areas etc.  Some photos will need to be made available to the organisers to use in publicising future Carnivals.
