Time: 1:00pm, and then later between 3:30pm - 4:00pm
Place: Garfunkels on Northumberland Ave - it’s right near Trafalgar Square so a good spot to meet up and then venture from there.

This is the St Patrick’s Day celebrations. The parade starts at Hyde Park Corner at noon and winds its way to Trafalgar Square and up to Whitehall. It’s usually difficult to keep up with everyone during a parade, so feel free to follow it until Trafalgar Square and then we can meet up to watch the rest, and of course the performances at the square. We can venture to Covent Garden where there will be an Irish food market and Leicester Square for the Irish Culture Village.

The later meeting time allows us to get together with anyone typically late (me) or dealing with any traffic issues. We can continue to enjoy the Irish festivities until 6pm and in between, no doubt, hit a Starbucks - since that is what we always tend to do.

Tomorrow is the Chinese Year of the Rat New Year celebrations, and our next meet up. The details are below, but please note there is a new second meeting time and place in case things are too hectic for our earlier meet up time. If you miss us at 12:30pm at the Trafalgar Square Cafe, then enjoy the celebrations and we’ll see you later, between 3:30pm and 4:00pm at Garfunkels on Northumberland Ave.

This is the Chinese New Year celebrations to bring in the Year of the Rat. There is a parade starting at 11am, but it can be quite a nightmare to try and follow the parade and keep track of folks, so we’ll be meeting up a little later. There will be all sorts of things going on at Trafalgar Square to enjoy.

That being said, past celebrations have been packed - quite literally - and there is a lot to see. If you are busy enjoying the celebrations on your own, great! We’ll have a second meeting spot later for something to eat and drink. Any suggestions on a good place to head? I’m not all that familiar with spots in the area.

Place: Outside the Cafe on the Square, Trafalgar Square

Why you should go:

• The Russian Winter Festival will be going on which should be fun to see
• We are a pretty cool bunch of folks
• You get to drool over the new gear folks got over Christmas;)

So, the next meet up is scheduled for next Saturday, January 12th. I’m wondering if folks would be up for changing that to Sunday, January 13th and meeting at Trafalgar square to check out the Russian Winter Festival? Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Time: Noon

Place: Hyde Park, Serpentine Road entrance - opposite Hyde Park Corner tube stop (View map).  Meet at the entrance.

Why you should go:

• It’s always nice to meetup with fellow photobloggers
• It’s this weeks The Way We See It location
• There should be some yummy food and hot chocolate to keep you warm
• It’s a good excuse to get out and about for a day

Our next meet up will be on Saturday, December 8th. We’ll met at Hyde Park (details to come) to check out the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. We can wander from there to wherever.

So yes, rather short notice but I like to keep you on your toes…or something like that. Anyway, this Saturday, November 10th, is the Lord Mayor’s Show - a huge event in London with an over 3 mile procession, fireworks at the end and something to do with the mayor. it’s definitely an event that would be fun to photograph, but be sure you can handle large masses of people since it’s bound to be rather busy. If you are keen to see what it’s all about and meet with some fellow photobloggers, read on:

Place: Just outside St. Paul’s Cathedral (X marks the spot above). The procession will pass here there and back, so you are sure to get a glimpse of it all.

Time: 10:00am. Earlier than usual, I know. The procession starts at 11am and will go past St. Paul’s at about 11:15am. It’s a good idea to get there a little earlier though and mark your spot, especially considering the crowds. There are at least some steps around here, so a higher vantage point may be ideal.

Check out the website, Lord Mayor’s Show, for more information.  Don’t forget the fireworks display (it is apparently one of the grandest) which will start at 5pm. You’ll want a good spot on either South Bank or Victoria Embankment so plan to head there a little earlier. After the procession you’ll probably have some time to grab a hot drink and then head over to grab your spot for the fireworks.

If you do decide to head down, comment here so folks know who to look out for. I won’t be joining up on this meet up as I have a food shoot to do, but I do hope folks will try to make it down and enjoy themselves.

Time: Noon

Place: Starbucks (where else?) in Camden. There are a few, as always, so please be sure to meet at the one right on the lock: 289 Camden High Street. Camden Town stop on the Northern line is nearby, or Chalk Farm which is also on the Northern line.

Why you should come:

• It’s always nice to meetup with fellow photobloggers
• Your camera arm needs a good workout
• Camden market has all sorts of cool shops
• The food at Camden market is delish
• It beats sitting at home on a Saturday
