Meetup: Sunday June 3rd

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

Yes folks, it is time for another meetup as June is already approaching fast and we haven’t had one in a while. Neil’s attempt last week was not too succesful, so hopefully this one will attract some lots of people.

When: Sunday June 3rd, 12:30PM
Where: well, that is up for discussion. What do people prefer? Central London? Or maybe something more offbeat? Please give us your suggestions in the comments (or send me an email if you’re too shy).

This also would be a great chance for the new editors to come along, so we can have a chat about things related to the site/etc. as well.
Lorissa is definitely coming according to her earlier comments, so no excuse to stay home this time!

[update] After some email discussions we have decided to visit the Islington/Hoxton area. There should be plenty of stuff there to keep us busy during the afternoon.
The place to meet is the Starbucks (oh yes, no surprise there) on 7 Islington High Street, which is opposite the Angel tube station (map).
After a coffee we will have a wander round the area, hopefully guided by some interesting walks Neil is planning to bring.
Because of the unpredictable weather it is advised to check here again on Saturday, in case we need to make alternative arrangements.

Choose. Submit. Win.

The 2007 AOP Open is upon us with the submission deadline of 5th July closing swiftly.

Blurb as follows:

“The exhibition always offers an eclectic mix of imagery, meeting the highest standards in all genres – from portraiture, fashion and reportage to landscape, still life and architectural photography.

Each year judges are brought together from all corners of the creative world, each with their own experiences, tastes and dealing in photography, Each panel offers up a new and exciting selection of photography.”

As opposed to the Photographer’s Award, there are no themes, categories or red tape holding you back whatsoever. These entries are all about stunning imagery and nothing more. You can submit as many entries as you like, either by print or on CD, but it will cost you £12 per image.

Entry forms are available here and you’ll find some previous years winners and runners up here.

So get snapping or dive into those archives - that’s all I have for now, so here’s a picture of a monkey eating a banana for you.
